ANLA Retail Division
Overview
The mission of the Retail Division of the American Nursery & Landscape Association is to be the national source for knowledge and services essential to managing and operating a professional retail nursery and garden center which meets the changing needs of the consumer. We add value by offering business resources for the specific needs of the retail garden center community. These resources are designed to support retailers' efforts to be operationally efficient, market responsive, and environmentally responsible.
Retail Benefits
Many successful retail programs foster retailer information-sharing. Through industry tours, retail owners and operators can exchange ideas in areas of marketing and displays, pricing and product mix, signage and point-of-sale, promotions, and public relations. Retail activities at ANLA's Annual Convention, Management Clinic, The Retail Roadshow, the International Garden Centre Congress & Tour, Independents' Days, and Garden Center University offer more exclusive and valuable information-sharing opportunities.
As a retail member of ANLA you are also a member of the International Garden Centre Association (www.intgardencentre.org), an international network of the leading garden centers in the world.
Many publications for retail garden centers, including John Stanley's audio CD Ten Minute Trainings and the revolutionary subscription-based merchandising system, Retail Recipes, are just the beginning of the vast network of resources available to ANLA retail members through the Retail Division. The Retail Division activities are overseen by its own board of directors and a staff administrator who woks closely with many retail / garden center industry consultants such as Joe Weishar (visual merchandising and store layout), Ian Baldwin (garden center profitability and management consulting), John Stanley (merchandising and experience retailing), and many more.
