Plant Development Services: Color, Southern Style Plant Development Services offers two new introductions from the Southern Living Collection, bright red, Majesty Shrub Rose and Autumn Sunburst, a new addition to the Encore Azalea series. Developed by Conard-Pyle, the disease-resistant Majesty produces velvety, deep-red, semi-double blooms and reblooms spring until fall. Great for containers and small spaces, Majesty grows compactly to 3 feet by 3 feet. One of four new Encore Azalea varieties, Autumn Sunburst™ offers brilliant bi-color blooms and a compact habit. Like all Encore Azaleas, Autumn Sunburst blooms in the spring, summer, and fall. Autumn Sunburst grows 4 feet tall by 3.5 feet wide and is cold-hardy to USDA zone 6A.

Kip McConnell, director of Plant Development Services, has built a career in the horticulture industry in areas including plant marketing and patents, retail merchandising, landscape design, and plant production and evaluation. He currently directs a team that specializes in marketing strategy, plant naming and trademarks, grower network coordination, quality control, and packaging design.
