HRI seeks grant applications for FY2014. The May 15 deadline is approaching! HRI particularly seeks proposals for research focusing on:
  • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in nursery crop production systems;
  • Regulatory issues and emerging opportunities in the nursery and landscape industry; Environmentally responsible management practices;
  • Research that increases nursery crop producers' business and financial expertise;
  • Research that expands the market for plant material.

The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) is accepting grant applications for horticultural projects designed to improve the efficiency and profitability of the Green Industry. The deadline for applications is May 15, 2013. Horticultural research and promotion is essential to the success of horticultural professionals and businesses. Scientists are encouraged to submit proposals for research that may expand profit opportunities for the Green Industry.

HRI continues to dedicate time and effort to supporting the research needs of the green industry community.  Through the donor supported competitive grants program, HRI has selected 12 research projects and 7 scholarships to receive funding totaling $306,000 in 2013. Of the $306,000, $21,000 will be awarded to student scholarships, HRI’s highest level of scholarship funding to date. The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) is accepting research applications for its FY2013 competitive research grants program. HRI strives to fund research that benefits green industry related issues. HRI supported projects focus on: significant problems, regulatory issues or emerging opportunities in the nursery and landscape industry, encourage environmentally responsible management practices, increase nursery crop producers' business or financial expertise, and expand the market for plant material. HRI seeks to support research that has definable outcomes and represents a return on investment for the green industry.

HRI is committed to support annual research efforts focused on the highest priority needs of the green industry. HRI strongly encourages collaborative research efforts and challenges scientists to focus research on attainable outcomes that show a return on investment for the green industry.

The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) has awarded $282,500 to nine research projects and four student scholarships for 2012.

The principal investigator is listed for each project. Many projects are collaborations between multiple research institutions and researchers
