Recording of Impatiens Downy Mildew Webinar Available Online
Posted by:
If you are making business decisions regarding bedding plants, whether you are a grower or landscaper, we hope you were able to participate in last week’s Impatiens Downy Mildew webinar. However, if you missed it or were unable to access the event due to over-demand a complete recording of the webinar is available at www.impatiensdownymildew.com. The presenters were Dr. Colleen Warfield, Corporate Plant Pathologist with Ball Horticultural, and Nancy Rechcigl, Technical Field Manager of Ornamentals with Syngenta. They shared distribution changes of Impatiens Downy Mildew from the 2011 season to the 2012 season, providing insight into where this disease might be headed next. They discussed cultural practices that are useful for keeping the disease at bay, as well as, fungicides and application protocols that have shown success. In addition, potential alternative plants that could be used in place of Impatiens walleriana were suggested as well as their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Just because you missed the live webinar, doesn’t mean you can’t ask the questions that are on your mind. If you still want to know more about Impatiens Downy Mildew or have unanswered questions after seeing the recorded presentation please submit your questions to info@anla.org. Dr.Warfield and Ms. Rechcigl have kindly agreed to respond to your inquiries.
